Notes An unashamed send-up of Glibert & Sullivan; dedicated to “Jan Stericker (‘Mrs Fiveboys’)”, Carey’s next-door neighbour in Woodbridge, whose grandparents had an indigo plantation in Bihar, north-west India; score states that the song was written in “Hardh Pawncore, 1899”, which may not be accurate
